What KeyZup is

KeyZup is a technology marketplace. We connect people who need locksmith help with independent locksmith technicians and locksmith companies in their area. Our app helps customers discover nearby providers, view provider information, and reach out to arrange service.

KeyZup is a platform, not a locksmith. We do not perform locksmith services ourselves.

How it works

  1. Discover. Customers browse and search for independent technicians and locksmith companies available near them.
  2. Connect. Customers reach out to a provider to discuss the job.
  3. Arrange and pay directly. Customers arrange the work directly with the provider and pay the provider directly. KeyZup does not set provider prices, collect payment on a provider's behalf, or pay technicians.

Independent providers

Technicians and locksmith companies on KeyZup are independent. They are not employees of KeyZup. Each provider is responsible for their own:

  • licences and legal authorization to perform locksmith work,
  • insurance,
  • pricing, scheduling, and service, and
  • conduct and compliance with applicable law.

Because providers are independent, the service relationship for any job is between the customer and the provider. KeyZup is not a party to that service contract.

What KeyZup provides

  • Discovery tools to help customers find independent technicians and locksmith companies.
  • Verification tooling that helps surface certain provider information. Any checks or verification signals reflect a point-in-time review of available information and are not guarantees of a provider's current status, credentials, quality, or conduct. Verification tooling does not replace a customer's own judgment.
  • Provider billing — KeyZup charges providers platform fees and offers company subscriptions, managed through a provider wallet. This is how KeyZup is funded. Customers pay providers directly for the actual locksmith work.

What KeyZup does not do

  • We do not perform locksmith services.
  • We do not employ technicians.
  • We do not guarantee the work, availability, pricing, credentials, or conduct of any provider.
  • We do not collect payment for locksmith services on a provider's behalf or pay technicians.

Where KeyZup operates

KeyZup is launching in the United States across multiple states, and the app also supports Canada. Availability of providers varies by location. Provider licensing and consumer-protection rules differ by state and province as provided by the laws applicable to your jurisdiction.

Choosing a provider

We encourage customers to review provider information, ask questions, and confirm a provider's licensing and insurance directly before agreeing to work. If something does not seem right, you can decline to proceed and can report a provider through the app.
